Ferm Living Autumn/Winter collection 2012

The new Ferm Living Autumn/Winter 2012 catalogue is out.
So take a cap of coffee and have a look.
Inspiring and beautiful like always. …

I just have a little enough of triangles. They pop up on the wallpaper, rugs, pillows, mugs, plates and kitchen towels…. When the triangles abscission will be over? I'm ready for something new  ;-) what it will be?  It feels strange that Autumn/Winter catalogs are starting to come, I still want to have Summer!

Cooking together

Do you like to cook with your kids?
My older son is having two weeks school holiday left so we are home together . Yesterday he wanted to make his favorite carrot cake. I asked for some help and it ended up in him dancing with the carrots all over the kitchen ;-) you can imagine the mess and fun we had!  Then we made one of my favorite dishes together ….spaghetti with red onions, pears and walnuts. It was a great day….despite it was raining.

Flux and Spotty Chair

Which folding chair do you prefer? I will definitely go for the first Peter Murdoch’s spotty chair from the 1960s. This chair was forward-thinking for its use of polyethylene-coated laminated kraft paperboard and was sold in supermarkets and department stores as flat sheets. It was easily assembled at home by folding it on the pre-scored sheets.
The modern Flux chair is made of polypropylene and it is also sold as flat sheets and easily assembled by folding. Flux "one-piece foldable design chair " is designed by Dutch designer- duo Douwe Jacobs en Tom Schouten.  To produce the chair they engineered a state-of-the-art injection moulding machine in the size of two buses!  ;-)

Treehouse bunk bed by AAlto+AAlto

Maja bed in different positions photo Riikka Kantinkoski via: weekdaycarnival

This bunk bed is looking like no other bunk bed I have ever seen. I really like the possibility of setting it in two different positions and the funny and playful look. I'm only not entirely sure whether the top is completely safe. The bed is still a prototype, and didn't went to the production yet. So fingers crossed! The design is made by Elina Aalto Klaus Aalto from Finland, working behind  viipurinkatu8 and aaltoaalto

Sleeping time with Happydots

Two friends, two mothers, which know each other from their childhood. Friendship and passion which brought new brand Happydots to life.  I'm glad to see more and more small companies trying to bring to the market something special and unique. The new born company is based in Poland. Agata and Olga are taking care of all the design and production. They select the fabric, design the pattern, they will pack it nice for you. The website is not life yet, but you can find them on their Facebook page and send them an e-mail if you want something special for the sweet and happy sleeping time of your kids.
I wish you great and relaxing weekend.

Finnish simplicity

If you see in magazines or on the internet some children room in bold colors it probably will be scandinavian one. Who would have the courage to paint a wall in child's room in black?  I'm not sure if I  could, but why not to try ones? ;-)

Today I collect for you few Finnish and Swedish puffs and pillows with simple shapes and colors.
Muovo is a Helsinki-based design studio found by Sanna Lehti and Anni Kääriä.  All Muovo products are manufactured in Finland. PaaPiidesign products are also coming from this nordic country, designed by Anniina Isokangas. She turned her passion for creating and crafting into business. She loves textile but also introduces postcards and posters. The yellow touch is from creative and always worth to visit Littleredstuga from Sweden and of course I couldn't miss my favorite Marimekko bedding set in this design collection.
